History Day Special Award Sponsorship

We’re pleased to announce that the 30th annual Monterey County History Day is scheduled for March 7th, 2019 at Los Arboles Middle School.  History Day is an important event and tradition that challenges local students in grades 4 - 12 to perform academically.

We would like to invite you to sponsor an award for History Day 2020!  This is an excellent way for you to help acknowledge the initiative, motivation and academic dedication of our county’s students. In return, we offer you the following benefits:

  • Name/Organization announced at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 7th, 2020.

  • Name on sponsor list in printed program distributed to all participating students.

  • Name recognition in a press release to local newspapers.

  • Name listed on Lyceum website.

This year’s national theme is Breaking Barriers in History. This theme will allow participants the opportunity to focus on any major player in Monterey County, California, American, or even world history!

If you like, you may select a topic of particular interest to your organization.  We are requesting that local corporations/organizations provide prizes for 2 to 4 projects, be it individual or group projects.  The enclosed Special Award Donation form will enable you to determine the details of your award.  The award can be any item that you choose (e.g. cash, books, plaques, gift certificates).

The Lyceum will announce the winner(s) of your Special Award at the Awards Ceremony, announcing you or your organization as the sponsor.

History Day Judges Needed! *
Each year we need over 40 judges to interview students about their projects, and decide which projects will win and move on to the State competition. If you are unable to provide an award, but are interested in judging, we would greatly appreciate your support! Judging takes place Saturday, March 7th, 2020. There will be a 2 hour judges training required as well (dates TBD).
