The 14th Annual Monterey County Model UN Middle School Conference will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey (miis.edu)!

  • Students should rank their topic preferences & country requests and indicate if they are working with a co-delegate by Wednesday, Feb 14 (past the deadline? no worries, just reach out to kristen@Lyceum.org)

  • Topic & Country assignments will be released Tuesday, Feb 20

Quick Research Tip: For SDG info, go to https://sdgs.un.org/goals and click on the Goal and then Targets & Indicators. You can also search online for outcome numbers like “SDG 4.3”.

* Families are welcome to attend Opening & Closing sessions! Committee sessions are limited to students, school advisors & Lyceum staff.

Tentative:

  • 8:30am—Delegate Check In

  • 9:00 am—Opening Session: Welcome & Keynote Speaker*

  • 9:20 am—Conference Briefing

  • 9:30 am—Committee Session #1 (45 minutes + 15 min break)

  • 10:30am—Committee Session #2

  • 11:30am—Lunch

  • 12:00pm—Committee Session #3

  • 12:45pm—Closing Session: Recognitions*, Q&A

  • 2:00pm—Adjournment

*The MUN Conference Prep Workshop is required for participants whose school is not participating. Some exceptions allowed with prior conference experience.

School Registration Opens:
Mon., Aug. 28, 2023

Please register before Feb 14, 2024 so students can submit requests for topics & countries they would like to represent. If you need more time, just let us know.

School Registration Fees Due
Fri., Apr. 12. We will send an invoice after school registrations are received.

Liability forms should be completed by parents/guardians by Fri., Apr. 12.
