7th Annual High School Model United Nations Conference
October 26th, 2019 at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
2019 TOPICS & BACKGROUND GUIDES
The 2019 High School Model United Nations Conference will be centered around Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: “To take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.” Climate change is occurring at rates much faster than anticipated its effects are felt worldwide. We believe that today’s youth are our best defense in this growing global threat. Student delegations at this year’s conference will explore the issue of climate change through three distinct lenses. It is our ultimate hope that all conference participants will feel empowered to make an impact in climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts, starting right here at home in Monterey County. Happy preparations, delegates!
