Space Explorers Camp

  • The Lyceum of Monterey County 1073 Sixth Street Monterey, CA United States (map)

Does your child love all things Space related?  Then this is the summer camp for them!  Our campers will go in depth and learn about our solar system with a hands on approach. They'll learn about the planets, the phases of the moon and what life is like in space.

Campers participate in a variety of fun and engaging hands-on projects like designing their own air rocket, making clay shuttles, and designing a spacesuit.  They'll spend the week making new friends who love space science too, doing individual, partner and group projects throughout the week. Activities include:

  • a field trip to the Planetarium at Hartnell College

  • launching air rockets at MIRA (Monterey Institute of Research in Astronomy)

  • meeting an astronaut

  • making Alka Seltzer rockets

  • clay shuttles
